AGES 3 YEARS BY SEPTEMBER 1st
Preschool Program
Children must be 3 years old and fully potty-trained by September 1st
In our Preschool class, students build vocabulary through circle time and whole-class read-alouds. Gross motor skills are developed through outdoor play in our fenced-in playground. Fine motor skills are enhanced through beading, Play-Doh, and lacing projects.
Students learn to recognize their name in print and begin writing it using the Handwriting Without Tears program. Letters and letter sounds, numbers, colors, shapes, sorting, and scissor skills are all introduced. Pretend play is encouraged in our dramatic play center.
Children continue building school-readiness skills through hands-on learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and creativity. Students practice listening and following directions, sequencing events, recognizing patterns, counting with one-to-one correspondence, and developing early literacy skills. By the end of the year, children have strengthened the social, emotional, and academic skills necessary for a successful transition to Pre-K.
