Literacy Topics your child will be exposed to throughout the year: Book Awareness, Author, Illustrator, Characters, Simple Retelling, Poetry, Songs, and Read Alouds, Phonemic Awareness, Rhyming, Building and Making Words, Journal Writing, Handwriting Without Tears, Asking questions and Problem solving.
Math Topics your child will be exposed to throughout the year:  Space (beside, next to, above, on, etc), Measurement, Numbers 1-20, Number Order, One to One correspondence, Shapes, Patterns, Sorting, Time, and Simple Operations.
PLEASE NOTE:  Children learn at different rates and in different ways.  We do not expect mastery of all of these topics.  They will be exposed to these topics through daily routines, direct instruction, small and large group instruction and through their play.
